Two of our groups, the Section on Development and Affective Neuroscience (SDAN) led by Dr. Daniel Pine, and the Novel Neural Therapeutics Unit (NNT) led by Dr. Melissa Brontman, are recruiting Intramural Research Training Award (IRTA) trainees for a start date of Summer 2025. Briefly, our groups examine the behavioral, neural, and clinical substrates of clinical anxiety, depression, and symptoms of irritability in youth. Ideal applicants are interested in pursuing medical school or graduate school in neuroscience, clinical psychology, or other such programs. Of note, NIH encourages the application of qualified women, individuals from underrepresented groups, and individuals with disabilities. Regardless of scholar interest in mental health research, I encourage scholars interested in STEM to apply for this incredible fellowship program at the NIH more broadly.
