Give Back to the Next Generation

You can make a huge difference by donating a few hours of your time (or more!) to help BSCP students. There are many ways to get involved…

Advisors for Biennial Student Conference: Advisors are MDs, PhDs, and MD/PhDs who are matched with students from high school to postdoctoral at BSCP’s biennial conference. You serve as a source of information and inspiration for students and fellows looking for education or career advice and networking opportunities. This is a one-day commitment but many advisors and students remain connected beyond the conference.

Speakers and Panelists for Conferences and Workshops: Speakers and panelists are experts in their field who present as keynotes or as part of a panel at conferences and workshops for BSCP students, fellows, and alumni.

Poster Judges for New England Science Symposium: Judges are MDs, PhDs and MD/PhDs who review four to eight abstracts in a category of their choice. You also attend a four-hour award selection session on the day of the Symposium.

Virtual Resume Reviewers for Biennial Career Development Series: Resume reviewers offer concrete advice and feedback to students and fellows on how to improve their resume/CV. These virtual, one-to-one sessions are open to students who attended resume and CV webinars during BSCP’s Career Development Series. You meet with students individually via Zoom for 25 minutes each, based on your availability.

If you have any questions about getting involved, please contact Hollie Borek DeSilva, Executive Director, at Hollie_DeSilva@hms.harvard.edu or 617-432-0552.
