Transition Scholarships
The Transition Scholarship Program was created in 2024 to help promising BSCP students persist through points of transition. This is a critical time when support can be scarce and the risk of veering off track can be high. Transition Scholarships are designed for high-potential students at an inflection point in their education.

The program currently supports students who fall into one of the following categories:
- Community college students transitioning to a four-year college/university
- Recent college graduates enrolling in a formal postbaccalaureate program
- Students transitioning from college or post-baccalaureate programs into graduate school (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., professional programs)
Eligibility is limited to active BSCP students who have participated in at least one of the following in-person events since 2020:

Benefits
Awards include a financial scholarship ($25,000 for two-year programs, paid over two years; $12,500 for one-year programs, paid in two installments) as well as the following additional resources:
- Access to a dedicated advisor for the full length of the scholarship
- Involvement in BSCP programs and ongoing access to BSCP resources
- A financial literacy series as well as 1:1 financial counseling
- A cohort model that fosters peer connection, mutual advice, and shared problem-solving

Application Requirements
This information is required as part of the application process.
Personal Statement
A personal statement (500–750 words) responding to the following questions:
- Who are you, and what makes you an ideal candidate for this scholarship?
- What are your major accomplishments, and why do you consider them significant?
- Why did you choose your current area of study?
- How will this scholarship support your educational and career goals?
- What has been your experience as a member of the BSCP community, and why are organizations like BSCP important?
Recommendations
Names and contact information for two individuals who recommend you for this program and are familiar with your academic or professional achievements (e.g., professor, mentor, supervisor, or advisor).
Each recommender will be contacted directly by BSCP and asked to complete a short online recommendation form instead of writing a letter of recommendation. They will have one week from the date they receive the form to submit their recommendation.

If selected for the program, proof of enrollment in a full-time four-year college/university, post-baccalaureate program, or graduate school is required prior to scholarship disbursement.
